SUMMER COOLING TIPS

  • Check your AC filter every 30 days
  • Keep the sun (heat) out of your home by closing blinds on windows that face the sun
  • Check your ceiling fans to ensure they are going forward which means the blades are moving counter-clockwise
  • Do not let heat buildup in your home, unplug small appliances and lighting, also do not put larger appliances that give off excess heat near your thermostat. This will cause the AC unit to run longer than necessary

WINTER HEATING TIPS

  • Open blinds to let the sun (heat) in, but be sure to close them at sundown
  • Set your ceiling fan in reverse so it will circulate warm air around the room
  • Add a humidifier as homes become dryer the moisture is removed from the air
  • Make sure to turn off exhaust fans when not in use

The best defense is our Preventative Maintenance Agreement. Your unit will receive 1 inspection in the spring and 1 in the Fall. This will make sure your unit is working to its optimal performance.

USEFUL TIPS

  • Check your filter each month. If it is dirty replace it. A clogged filter can cause excessive wear on your unit.
  • Keep your outdoor unit free of grass, leaves, and shrubs. This includes the base pan.
  • Use a programmable thermostat. You can program a different setting for each day of the week, so when you are not home it will automatically increase or decrease the need for Heat or Air.
  • Check seals on windows and doors for leaks.

IS IT BETTER TO REPAIR OR REPLACE?

  • Does your system need constant repair?
  • Are your energy bills going up?
  • Is your system more than 10 years old?

If you answered yes to these questions; then it is probably time for an upgrade. Try an energy efficient model. These units can save you on average up to 20% on heating and cooling costs.
